Google’s online search algorithm was updated today. The algorithm will filter websites that aren’t mobile friendly and consequently lower their search result placement. Nowadays only about 38% of businesses’ website are mobile friendly, which means that millions of websites are going to be buried within Google’s online search result pages. Don’t be alarmed! This change won’t impact all the websites in one day. It will take a couple of weeks for the update to be completely implemented. This gives companies enough time to optimize their website and make them smartphone and tablet friendly.

Mexico is quickly becoming the biggest dynamic startup scene in Latin America. The country has a location advantage over other fast-expanding Latin American economies since it is closely located to booming startup hubs like Silicon Valley and Austin. From Mexico City, to Guadalajara, to Monterrey; all these cities are boasting with emerging entrepreneurs, startups, venture capital firms and accelerators.

This big impulse hasn’t only come from the private sector. The Mexican government created a policy center, the National Institute of Entrepreneurship (INADEM), which distributed $658M to approximately 620,000 entrepreneurs in 2014. This center allows entrepreneurs easy access to government officials who are in charge of entrepreneurial planning and financial support. The government has also invested in a tech district in Guadalajara, Ciudad Creative Digital, to set the city apart from its famous foreign investor manufacturing background.

Mexico also counts with top of the class universities such as the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, also known as Tec de Monterrey, and the Universidad de Guadalajara. These schools are taking an active role and fomenting entrepreneurship programs within their campuses in hopes that students emerge as tomorrow’s innovators.
